Shrouds and Stays: The Ballad of Jane Wright
It is 1890. Jane sets off from England on a perilous journey aboard the merchant sailing ship Bay of Panama. Her husband is captain and she is the only woman on board. One hundred and thirty years later, Jane’s great-great granddaughter Catherine discovers her story and is compelled to share it through original songs, narration, recitation and movement. Here is a story of seafaring days gone by, of family ties, love and loss, forces of nature, inner courage and continuum – themes which will resonate loudly in this province.
You are invited to linger for light refreshments and a post-show discussion/story sharing on related themes.

On Monday, Nov 18, 7pm-9pm come along to the Annex (365 Old Placentia Road) for a fun and relaxing evening of painting. Allison Prior takes us to the sea this time as she leads the group through creating a fantastic sailing painting.
