Between the Mount Pearl Santa Claus Parade and the ‘All is Bright’ Tree Lighting at St. David’s park on Saturday and the St. John’s Santa Claus Parade on Sunday this weekend is a cavalcade of excitement.
If you’d like the chance to wind down a bit while still having fun, why not drop in for AAMP’s ARTFUSiON Festival?
Sunday, December 4th from 2-5PM at The Annex (next to Admiralty House Museum) in Mount Pearl.
We’ve got a great line-up of performers, some low-key shopping, and some art activities for the kids (and for you, if you want to give them a whirl. No pressure from us!)
The event is free but we’re always happy to receive donations if your budget allows.
Our vendors/display artists include: Charity’s Art Chummyjiggers (jewelry, wool socks, and more), Stan Nochasak (visual art), Claudia Maria (visual art), Queer Stick (visual art and ceramics), Jennifer Morgan (printing demo), authors Michelle Butler Hallett and Trudy Morgan-Cole, and more!
2:00: Opening Remarks (Christine Hennebury – AAMP Chair, Wayne Butler – National Anthem)
2:10: Christine Hennebury – storytelling
2:30: Vanessa Cardoso-Whelan – dancer
2:45: Stan Nochasak and Sophie Angnatok – drummers and storytellers
3:15: Chris Cole – singer-songwriter
3:45: Jamie Ruby – juggler
4:15: Colin Carpenter – guitarist
ARTFUSiON Festival is just the beginning of our December creative fun.
Watch for our complete schedule to be released on December 1.
This event and the others in this series were made possible by contributions from The Department of Canadian Heritage‘s Building Communities Through Arts and Heritage program, the ArtsNL Community Arts Program, and by allocations from our operating grant from the City of Mount Pearl.
