Workshop: Polymer Clay with Sydney Mills
Sunday, April 7, 2-4PM,The Annex
Learn to make your own trinket dish with Mary Contrary Shop!
AAMP’s April Workshop will cover all you need to know to use polymer clay, including what supplies to use, conditioning clay to avoid bubbles and cracks, keeping clay clean of hairs and dust, hand-sculpting, sculpting with tools, utilizing clay cutters, baking instructions, and plenty of other tips and tricks that you can use to create just about anything from clay.
Space in this workshop is limited, so please email aampinfo@gmail.com to reserve your spot. Attendance is free, but donations to AAMP will be accepted. The Annex is located at 365 Old Placentia Road.
About the artist: Sydney Mills (she/they) is a self-taught artist born and raised in Newfoundland who works in a variety of mediums, including polymer clay, textiles, linocut printing, digital design, and paper craft. She creates art that reflects her love of history, queer identity, and early 2000’s toys. When not creating art under the oversight of their cat Mango, they work as a museum educator and teach arts and heritage-based workshops for all ages. Examples of her recent work can be found online under the Instagram handle @marycontraryshop.

2) Pocket Creativity

Bring a group or go solo for this fun creativity challenge game with AAMP’s creative team.
You’ll be given a bag of craft supplies and doodads, a list of prompts, and plenty of time to do as many prompts as you can.
You don’t need ANY particular artistic skill for this game, it’s just about goofing around with ideas.
